Who’s Savvy?

Ramey Warren and the Media Savvy Story

How a unique talent for One Big Thing grew into an enterprise respected by entertainment and business professionals across the country.

A funny thing happened to Ramey Warren as she progressed along her career path. As her reputation grew—casting fascinating guests for The Tonight Show and The Late Show, producing and executive producing shows and segments in reality, talk, magazine, lifestyle, and entertainment television, creating and producing talk shows and breakthrough new-form reality series—a kind of awestruck nickname began following her around: The Guest Whisperer. She became known by Hollywood insiders as the go-to maven for making both guests and hosts look good, for elevating the entertainment and emotional impact of media and interview appearances, for leapfrogging careers to the next level. And it all came from a near-mystical understanding of the alchemy of personality. “I’ve always been fascinated by how celebrity weaves its magic spell on us all,” says Ramey. “Turning the chemistry of talent into a positive media personality is an art form, but there’s also a science to it.”

  • Producer and Executive Producer for reality, talk, lifestyle, and entertainment media
  • Exclusive production arm for TV Guide Channel’s first five years
  • Creator and Producer of The Bertice Berry Show and the breakthrough series Crossing Over with John Edward
  • Studio favorite media coach for launch and awards season
  • Bringing the power of entertainment to the business of business

Growing up in Texas means thinking big. Having Talent Coordinator of The Tonight Show during Johnny Carson’s reign on your résumé as one of your first jobs in the entertainment industry is about as big as it gets. Ramey witnessed careers skyrocket and nosedive based on how guests impressed (or how they disappointed) Johnny and the audience. The importance of media exposure—of being prepared for media exposure—was impressed on her show biz DNA forever.

She took that inside knowledge with her as she moved on to talk and lifestyle series on Fox, ABC, and syndication, to create and produce for Paramount, NBC, Universal and Twentieth Television, to develop series for HGTV, Fine Living and Style.

Ramey WarrenRamey’s desire to share all this savvy with entertainment professionals of all kind led her to create Media Savvy with her former business partner, Adora English. Performers, rising stars, and celebrities of every stripe and fashion came through their doors to learn the vital skills of standing out and getting WOW! reviews on talk shows, in interviews, at press junkets, and before the public. Media Savvy made history by crafting a new genre of television. They shaped and packaged the unique psychic talents of John Edward into a show put The SyFy Channel on the map as a source of edgy and startling reality programming: Crossing Over with John Edward.

This ability to recognize breakthrough talent led to establishing an incubator for developing concepts, franchises, and personality brands. When TV Guide Channel launched, they turned to Media Savvy for help. They were so impressed that the company became the channel’s exclusive production arm for almost five years, booking and producing over 2,000 TV, music, and sports celebrity interviews and appearances.

In the process, Media Savvy’s celebrity contact database grew to unmatched proportions. Studios began depending on the team to supercharge the media power of entire casts of TV shows, movies, and stage productions. Awards seasons filled Media Savvy’s calendar with celebrity clients seeking the elusive statuettes. The Guest Whisperer and the team were so successful in helping stars navigate the endless grind of interviews and appearances that they ushered two clients to Academy Awards wins and others to capturing Emmys, Grammys, BAFTAs, SAG Awards, and Golden Globes for their Hollywood mantles.

Ramey’s successful partnership with TV Executive Steven Lewis led to growth in brand development, media coaching, internet strategies and content, marketing, product integration, and public speaking. Now, as President of Media Savvy Plus, Ramey empowers clients from every kind of industry to unearth, polish, and perfect their truest selves—creating memorable moments to win over hosts, interviewers, audiences, boardrooms, and the marketplace. Ramey and the on-call team of Media Savvy Plus producers, coaches, and experts deliver personal coaching, full scale mock interviews, and pilot presentations, as wells as project development, launch, and support services.
